I was able to spend a lot of time as a child playing on the beach there ... best beach spot in PB County. Once an adult with a car ... the double roads took on a totally different meaning for me. It was where I went when sad, just to listen to the surf hitting the sand. It was kinda like holy ground to me. Sit for an hour or so, then go back to WPB and my apartment. This was all back in the 50's and 60's, but the memories will never fade. Thank you for your writings, Ruth Berge. Reall enjoying them.
Carolynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00325246670701975597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1044871296266283992.post-48501954567412959402016-04-02T10:56:53.474-04:002016-04-02T10:56:53.474-04:00Good to hear a reference to Camp Welaka.Good to hear a reference to Camp Welaka.kohlerbjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16084414077384492137noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1044871296266283992.post-48446621765162618702015-02-09T08:46:27.094-05:002015-02-09T08:46:27.094-05:00Thank you for sharing your memories!Thank you for sharing your memories!ruth.the.writerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09854940988819225116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1044871296266283992.post-39865792727896709892015-02-08T17:29:03.931-05:002015-02-08T17:29:03.931-05:00I grew up hanging out at Juno Beach almost every d...I grew up hanging out at Juno Beach almost every day and always hung out at night. Also used to camp out at NPB heights when we graduated we partied out there for like a week. Sheriffs dept would stop by and make sure everyone was being cool and leave. A four-mile stretch of unfettered access to the beach & ocean - no parking spots, just pull off the road & bam. You were there. And we reminisced & lamented what has happened since those great times.Jerry Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13297742597910863112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1044871296266283992.post-81958742324645715082013-09-06T08:43:28.148-04:002013-09-06T08:43:28.148-04:00Thanks for your comments, Brant. Growing up here was too much fun, riding motorcycles on the beach at 1am with friends and just hanging out, finding time to go to school was the hard part.
BrantAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1044871296266283992.post-74054048306001355402013-02-02T19:57:27.011-05:002013-02-02T19:57:27.011-05:00Thanks, Jerry, glad you enjoyed it!
